Will a new Gilsson external GPS antenna work any better than the original GPS antenna?
I just purchased an external Gilsson GPS antenna for my Magellan GPS.My GPS does have an original Magellan external antenna on it.Will the new Gilsson antenna work any better than the Magellan one i have now or have i just thrown some money out the window?
Please explain if you can.Thanks.
Without model numbers of involved equipment, it’ll be hard to say.
I’ve seen reviews of units like the Gillson’s MCX series and they show rather slight, but measurable differences from model to model. So unless your original antenna was pretty bad, I wouldn’t expect noticable difference.
It’s easy to do A/B testing, though. Go to the satellite screen and compare the number and size of bars displayed while changing antennas.
